Innovation

Technology Pipeline

  • We’re collaborating with the Vision Innovation Institute (VII) to develop advanced intraocular lenses (IOLs), including a clinically validated implant capable of reducing secondary cataract, a devastating complication of cataract surgery.

We’ve also secured the right to the most advanced materials for IOLs.

  • ADVF and VII are exploring innovative therapeutic approaches, including topical treatments and ultrasound drug delivery technology, to address retinal diseases, which cause blindness in tens of millions of people.

  • ADVF is exploring collaborations to deploy AI smartphone-based tools and apps that can be used for diagnostics and to measure surgical outcomes.

25%

The global population is expected to grow by 25% by 2050, reaching 9.7 billion.

65+

The number of people over 65 will almost double, increasing the prevalence of age-related vision impairments.

Research Hub

In collaboration with the Vision Innovation Institute (VII), ADVF is creating a dedicated innovation center focused on researching and scaling new technologies aimed at eliminating blindness worldwide.

This center will conduct applied research to identify, test, and scale solutions that are efficient, effective, and accessible to the widest number of patients possible.

Global Expansion

ADVF is committed to expanding its reach to new regions, prioritizing areas with the highest burden of preventable blindness.

It leverages technology and works closely with VII and other institutions to identify and deploy the most appropriate technologies for each target community.
